Here's the Latest:
22 December 2006
Apparently, nobody is still using
the forums. It would be really cool to see some
entries in there that aren't my own.
The
20th Year Class Reunion events have come and gone, and a great
time was had by all. A big thanks goes out to the people who were able
to attend for making the events such a huge success. More importantly,
a huge 'Thank You' to the members of the Reunion Committee for putting
the whole thing together – and especially Stacy (Dana) Packard for chairing
the committee and Michelle (Woods) Kuhn for getting the word out to everybody
we've been able to locate so far.
Without
the time and effort put forth by the people on the committee, all sorts
of things could've gone wrong with the handling of this important event,
but they made it all come together with the skill and smoothness that
would've made any professional event planning company take notice and
envy.
And
finally, a big thanks to all those who donated services, money, and/or
items for door prizes. All of the individuals and companies will be recognized
on an upcoming 20th Reunion Revisited page.
To answer a few questions:
- Apparently, Boston actually IS farther away than Delaware... and a class
member flew all that distance to attend. As well, San Angelo Texas is
not too far of a distance for some people to drive to attend.
- The Golf Tournament was a blast, and some of the participants
had games that PGA Pros would envy.
- Some people still own and wear checkerboard slip-on Vans.
-
'Forehead Bingo' was a bigger success and more fun that
it initially sounded like it was going to be – and explains
why Stacy wanted the 'Getting to Know You Questionnaire'
information.
-
No matter how good your skin is, "Garage Sale Dots"
will not stick to your forehead for more than 15 minutes.
-
The biggest thing observed by everybody that toured
the school during the breakfast was that the lockers
had been totally ripped out and reconfigured, allowing
unobstructed observation of both hallways from either
end.
-
It's entirely possible to walk right by some of your
closest friends from high school and not even recognize
them after 20 years.

For any other issues with the website in general, contact Eric Hansen
at: mr4x4@wcc.net
I've
added the 'Lost & Found' page, which has a list of the people who
we've been unable to contact and inform of the upcoming 20th Year Reunion.
Check your e-mail address books and whatever else you have and help us
locate the rest of our classmates so we can get everyone included.
As people come up with the missing contact information, we'll post it
on the Contacts page and indicate who's been found on the 'Lost &
Found' page. Now get busy and find the rest of our friends.
I've finally located my yearbooks!! (But can't seem to find the
time to pick out pictures to scan...) Drop me a note if you have
any particular pictures you want to see online. Meanwhile, I'm going
to start scanning the Senior Class pictures from the 1986 yearbook, and
a couple of random shots (that don't have someone's comments scribbled
all over them) from the book. If there's any pictures we want to
see from the other yearbooks as well, please let me know.
We're also starting to get a lot more information on the site, so I changed
up the appearance a little so we can cram more in without making it a
major scrolling effort. Please let me know if anybody is having
difficulties viewing anything on the page - for whatever reason.
The Air Force said I was color-blind, and while that may explain the color
scheme, I can always change it to make it look better/easier on the eyes.
Whatever you want to see or think would make this site better, let us
know.
When
you visit the site: if you wish to add your contact information
for all to see, simply sign the Guest Book (click the link to the left).
Things change over the years, so sign in with your name as it appeared
in the yearbook, or how everybody knew you. Ladies, if you would
be so kind as to sign your maiden-name (with your current surname in parenthesis),
so we can better remember who you were. Not everybody from way back
when knows you by your married names.
Unfortunately, some idiot has chosen to load up our guest book with a
bunch of Spam entries, so I've started the ball rolling on getting rid
of this nuisance by tracking down their ISP and notifying the guest book
owners - hopefully, they'll take some action of their own and that will
be that. Meanwhile, I'm going to be screening the guest book entries
and making sure that only the people we want in there get to sign in.
And your e-mail entry will also now show up in the Guest Book with a "Private"
tag, to further protect you, but we'll still have the information we need
to make sure you're on the list. Sorry for the inconvenience, and
I'll get the new entries posted as soon as possible.
THIS
IS HUGE!!!: Especially for you 'technology vegetables'
out there (and you know who you are...
), we've dropped the requirement to register on the forums before you
can post. What we need you to do, however, is sign your posts with
your name - that'll let us know who's been here. Let's get some
movement going on. You can still register and become a member, in
fact - it would be better if you did... but if you choose not to, it won't
stop anyone from participating anymore. So there's no reason to
not check it out and drop a note.
New people added to the Contacts page: Lots of people added
since the last update on 27 February 2006. Check and see if any
of your friends have visited the site yet. We've been having a problem
with a Guest Book Spammer. Don't worry though - I've changed the
settings of the Guest Book so that it can't be data-mined for live-links
with the purpose of spamming everybody at home, and I'm in the process
of having the offending party added to the site's filter process.
